Mission Statement It is the mission of the Union Grove United Methodist Church to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship (Psalm 29:2), fellowship (1 John 1:3-7) and service (John 13:4-7). By our actions of love (Mark 12:28-31), faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), and thanksgiving (Psalm 95:1-3) we hope to honor God and win new disciples for His Kingdom (Matthew 28:18-20). The Union Grove United Methodist Church is a church of open hearts (Matthew 25:34-40), open minds (Matthew 7:1-2), open doors (Luke 11:9-10), and open Bibles (Romans 10:17; John 1:1) |

History - In 1866, pledges of money were received for building a church that was to be erected as the Union Grove Methodist Episcopal Church. The ground was given by John Creamer and Phoebe Coney, and in 1869 a contract was signed to build the church at a cost of $3,900. The congregation has a long record of faithful service to God and to the community. In recent years many significant changes and improvements have been made to add beauty and to strengthen the ministry. In 1989 the building was raised and a basement was dug to provide a Fellowship Hall. In 1996 the steeple was installed with Carillon Chimes. We are proud of the "Little Church on the Hill". Its people have a long history of faithful service. It is truly a beautiful place to worship and carries with it a tradition of people faithfully witnessing to the community of God's Love. We are truly thankful.
